why PageTurners online?

We wanted to provide an example of an online version of one of the PageTurners books. We wanted some easy-to-read, fun stories online as well as on paper.

People who enjoy reading PageTurners books could have trouble finding much to read on the web. Teachers of literacy classes may benefit from having some screen-based stories to read as a group.

Sound?

As well as turning the page, you can hear each page read aloud as you go.

On each page you'll see an image of a speaker - this is our symbol for listening to the story - one click on this should read the whole page to you. The speaker may be slow to arrive - you should see a "loading bar" in its place while it arrives.

Depending on your browser, you may be able to click on each individual sentence as well - try clicking on the words of the story and hear.

Possible problems

- the speaker symbol may take too long to arrive
- you may not have the "Flash player" installed with your browser
- please let us know via the feedback forms
- there's a separate help file for studentsturtle

Need to find a particular page?

> Try this - you'll find a list of page numbers at the top of the page.<

(We left this out of the story, so as not to spoil the linear narrative. If you want to keep using the page numbers - you'll need to use only the numbers to navigate - otherwise they'll disappear again.)
